Quote #1
Context: Slip lives in a room above Niniveh's shop. She is describing how she came to hear a knock in the middle of the night on the door to the shop.
I got up to pee - yet again ...
The only other time I've heard a Player talk about peeing is when I sat in at my friends' game and one of the Players - a guy, of course - would pee on an opponent after defeating it.
Quote #2
Context: Niniveh was bit by a dire rat in our previous dungeon encounter and is poisoned. Slip goes to our trusty gnome cleric, Trig, for help. Also, we defeated a boggle in the dungeon, but our honorable halfling rouge keeps calling it a "Gobble." She resents it because the townsfolk kept thinking that a halfling had been stealing all their stuff, when it had been the boggle all along; she carries his severed head with her as a sign of victory and honor.
Slip: Niniveh looks like the Gobble head ... only not so blue.
Trig: (stares for a moment; beat) Green, maybe?
This quote is particularly remarkable because this was the first instance we've seen of Trig really getting into character. Maybe it's one of those things you had to be there for, but it was a breakthrough.
Quote #3
I think Niniveh got a rat STD. What are the symptoms for Dire Rat?
Quote #4
Context: Niniveh (Player) keeps asking the GM if we're going to miss something important or have to fight for our lives because we didn't specify a particular action to the most minute detail. Having grown up playing D&D with her brother and her father, the Player is slightly paranoid. The GM tells her, in a stage whisper:
I am not your father.
Quote #5
Context: The Party is trying to cross a river on our trek to the Foggy Mountains. Niniveh, the witch, fails her skill check and falls in.
She's a real witch because she sank!
Other telling signs that you're in an all-girl game:
- The Player next to you is doodling hippos.
- The Hoodie Ninja keeps rolling low, but so does the goblin he's in melee with. They lower each others hit points - one at a time.
